Silicone material has excellent weather resistance, can cope with extreme high temperature and low temperature; resist ozone and oxygen attack. Can withstand extreme temperature changes: -40°C to 250°C. Expected longer life at 200°F to 400°F (93°C to 204°C). Silicone rubber tubing is less resistant to oil, fuel, and hydrocarbons. When exposed to acids, bases and solvents, the performance is mediocre. The physical properties (stretch, abrasion, tear and cut growth) are average. Since silicone is odorless and tasteless, it is very suitable for certain surgical procedures and food processing applications.
